El sismo fue reportado por el Servicio Geol\u00f3gico de Estados Unidos (USGS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El&nbsp;<strong>Pasaje de Drake<\/strong>, o&nbsp;<strong>Paso de Drake<\/strong>, es un estrecho donde circula la Corriente Circumpolar Ant\u00e1rtica; esta corriente fluye del Pac\u00edfico al Atl\u00e1ntico y act\u00faa como una barrera t\u00e9rmica, impidiendo que las aguas m\u00e1s c\u00e1lidas del norte lleguen la Ant\u00e1rtida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Por lo mismo, se trata de aguas dif\u00edciles de navegar, donde han sido comunes los accidentes a lo largo de la historia. En una de las costas, tienen tierras&nbsp;<strong>Chile,&nbsp;<\/strong>con la ciudad de&nbsp;<strong>Punta Arenas<\/strong>,&nbsp;y&nbsp;<strong>Argentina<\/strong>, con la ciudad de&nbsp;<strong>Ushuaia<\/strong>.
